Quartz, Brussels

Quartz is one of my favourite restaurants in Brussels, a place I happily return to for its thoughtful cooking, relaxed atmosphere and beautifully presented dishes. It’s the kind of restaurant where you can settle in, take your time and enjoy a wonderful meal without any unnecessary fuss.

What I particularly appreciate about Quartz is the balance between creativity and simplicity. The cooking is refined, the ingredients are carefully chosen, and every dish feels considered without being overly complicated.

The four-course menu is a lovely way to discover the chef’s creativity, with seasonal ingredients and combinations that make each visit a little different. It’s also what makes returning such a pleasure, as there’s always something new to discover.

On my latest visit, we began with oysters, followed by a succession of beautifully presented dishes. The rabbit was particularly memorable, although choosing a favourite would be difficult. Everything was delicious, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the meal.

Beyond the food, there’s something wonderfully welcoming about Quartz. It feels special without being formal, making it equally suited to a romantic evening or simply a leisurely dinner when you want to eat exceptionally well.

For me, Quartz is one of those Brussels restaurants that deserves to be returned to, rather than visited just once.
