Le Coq en Pâte, Brussels
Le Coq en Pâte is a lovely Italian restaurant in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, a neighbourhood of Brussels I don’t visit nearly often enough.
I discovered it while having lunch with a dear friend who lives nearby, and it was a wonderful reason to venture a little further from my usual favourite spots.
Despite its very French-sounding name, Le Coq en Pâte is actually an Italian restaurant, although you won’t find pizza on the menu. Instead, the focus is on traditional Italian dishes, carefully prepared and beautifully presented.
The menu offers plenty of tempting choices, including vitello tonnato, artichokes, arancini and polpette, followed by a selection of fish, pasta and meat dishes.
What I particularly appreciate is the variety. It’s the kind of restaurant where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch with a friend, discover something different and take your time over good food and conversation.
The restaurant has also offered a three-course lunch menu, making it an appealing option for a weekday or Saturday lunch. The price mentioned when I visited was €25, although I’d recommend checking the current menu before booking.
If you’re exploring Woluwe-Saint-Lambert or simply looking for a good Italian restaurant away from the busiest parts of central Brussels, Le Coq en Pâte is well worth discovering.
