Jardin des Olives, Brussels
Jardin des Olives is one of those little restaurants in the heart of Brussels that you discover and immediately want to tell your friends about.
Small and intimate, with soft lighting and discreet décor, it has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The owners are charming, genuinely warm and clearly passionate about what they do.
We started with a fresh, vibrant ceviche and a beautifully tender pork belly confit that practically melted in the mouth.
For the main courses, we enjoyed fresh tagliolini with pistachio pesto, burrata and a crumble of guanciale, a delicious combination of creamy, crunchy and nutty flavours. I chose the slow-cooked lamb fillet with eggplant parmigiana, which was equally memorable.
We shared a bottle of Barrique Primitivo, a generous red wine with cherry notes that paired beautifully with the meal.
Dessert was impossible to resist. We shared a fig millefeuille and a hazelnut praline tartlet, both a wonderful way to finish the evening.
What makes Jardin des Olives special isn’t just the food. It’s the combination of thoughtful cooking, an intimate setting and the genuine warmth of the people behind it.
We left already looking forward to returning.
