Hong Hoa, Brussels
Sometimes, all you want is a comforting bowl of noodles, fresh ingredients and a delicious meal without spending a fortune. Hong Hoa, a family-run Vietnamese restaurant just a short walk from the Bourse, is exactly that kind of place.
This welcoming little restaurant is a lovely option when you’re exploring central Brussels and looking for something relaxed and affordable. There’s nothing overly elaborate about the experience, just traditional Vietnamese dishes, generous portions and the sort of comforting food that keeps people coming back.
The menu offers plenty of familiar favourites, from fragrant pho with its warming broth and tender meat to bún, Vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowls, crispy spring rolls and flavourful stir-fried dishes. It’s the kind of cooking that manages to feel both fresh and satisfying.
I particularly like the variety of textures and flavours that Vietnamese food brings to the table. The freshness of the herbs, the crunch of the spring rolls and the warmth of a bowl of noodle soup make for a wonderfully comforting combination.
Hong Hoa also stands out for its approachable prices. When I wrote my original review, most main courses were around €9–13, making it possible to enjoy a satisfying meal without a large bill. It’s worth checking the latest menu, as prices may have changed.
If you’re spending the day in the city centre, visiting the Bourse or wandering through the surrounding streets, Hong Hoa is a good address to have in mind for an easy, flavourful lunch or casual dinner.
